The history of handmade Amish quilts reaches close to two centuries; the Amish began quilting in the 1800s. Seeking to keep themselves separate from the adornments of the world, the first Amish made quilts were dark, solid, and all one color. As the art of quilt making took deeper hold, Amish made quilts grew in complexity and color. The king size postage stamp quilt is made out of 7,225 squares. Today we enjoy what has grown into a rich Amish quilt tradition.

Many of our quilts are hand quilted by a single Amish woman, heightening the uniformity of stitch across the quilt. Quilting goes beyond king and queen size blankets. Quilted pillows decorate any bed. We offer a selection of quilted pillows and quillows. A quillow is pillow when it is folded and a quilt when it is opened. Smaller quilts make tasteful quilted wall hangings or double as cozy quilted throws for a couch or easy chair. Crib quilts are snuggly for infants. A number of our pot holders and table centerpieces come in quilt patterns.
